I’m sure I was not the only one doing a happy dance in the rain this
weekend.  I could literally hear my flowers lapping up the drops!

Trying to savor a bit of this lovely weather, knowing grey days
are right around the corner…But before that, we have FALL,
GLORIOUS FALL!!

And, at Roundabout, fall is here!  Halloween has hit the shelves-
check out the new Linda B. wool sample–way, way cute,
and easy too!  Don’t miss the little purple spider, he’s too
funny!  We also have some new lovely fall fabric, just
right for a seasonal wall hanging or napkins and a new
tablecloth.

To inspire you, we have two new Block of the Month
projects, both from Marcus Fabrics.  The first is
“Garden Party”, a forties fabric inspired quilt done
in strips, with enough applique and piecing to be
a little challenging without being overwhelming!  The
colors are bright and happy, and the fabric really pretty
in cool blues, crisp reds, happy yellows, and mellow
greens.

The second is “Cotton Club”,  a block challenge with
truly gorgeous reds, browns, tans, gold and creams.
Joan is piecing it as we speak, and she has found
the directions clear and the results fabulous!

Roundabout A Block club will meet September 10th,
as we will be closed Labor Day weekend.

Sorry to say there will be no 30′s club
Saturday, August 20th.  Frank has had
a death in the family and will be attending
the service that weekend.  I am sure you
all join me in letting Frank know we are
thinking of him and his family and will miss
him.  He has assured me he will be back
full force the third Saturday in September.

Don’t forget that Frank will be leading
the “Garden Party”  BOM.  Every third
Saturday at 11:00am (after 30′s settles down)
he will give a tutorial on the latest block
for the quilt.

DRUMROLL PLEASE….our new website will
feature a beginning roster of online sales items!!!!
We will have patterns, some books, kits,
specialty cuts such as charm packs, AND
we are slowly entering our fabric lines!!!!!
My daughter Allison has spent most of the
summer making the site beautiful and easy to
navigate, and I think it looks wonderful.

I just traded in the Bernina’s in our classroom
for brand new models…so come on in and
sew on “Finish It Friday”.  For those of you
who haven’t tried it, our classroom is open
from 10am-4pm for you to enjoy our lovely
sewing machines, and finish some of those
UFO’s.

The kits for the Winterberry Panel have
been put together, and are available for
sale.  Also, the wonderful Maple leaf quilt
of “Quilts of Chestnut Ridge” from our
favorite new author Debbie Pierce is
available in kits now.  We have some
copies of her beautifully illustrated book
as well, with full pattern instructions
for every size.

Meanwhile, soak up the sun…
don’t let summer slip by without spending one
super lazy day by the pool or at the beach
with a trashy novel and a soda and
a little snack….  AHHHHH…that’s living!!
